That feeling of being left behind while everyone moves forward is very strong and common in a lot of people. The MC doesn’t really know what she wants to do in her future, and I think this is great because I relate a lot to that feeling. Which is another reason why I like “Dream Days in West Tokyo”, because it really starts with a childlike personality and romance that grows the longer you read. Which is great since it’s completely true. Ichigo’s ego (which is huge) takes a bit of a hit when he realizes that he isn’t putting forth the effort that others are. Ichigo is told that he cannot take over the cake shop until he proves that he really wants it, and not just accepting the responsibility halfheartedly. His possessiveness is very apparent during the beginning, not wanting any of the guys to touch her. He is much more open with his feelings with the MC since they had been dating for a few months by this point. However, when all the misunderstandings are cleared up he is really sweet. Doesn’t help that he is extremely jealous of his brother’s more honest and charismatic personality, and when it comes to the brother talking to the MC it makes matters worse. He feel that his brother is the ‘better’ son so all the emotional progress that seems to have been made sort of crumbles and he starts become reclusive. It’s obvious that Ichigo compares himself to his brother. It doesn’t help when his brother returns home after a few years absence and is welcomed back with open arms. This leads to a lot of family friction in both the main route and the sequel. Ichigo and his father seem to have the same problem with not being able to say their emotions directly, especially to one another. It’s funny because Johji plays along with it, even though he knows what’s going on. Ichigo shoots all other options down until he is the only option left. I think one of the things from the main route that sticks out in my mind the most from the beginning is when the floor in the MC’s room collapses, long story short, the girl needs a place to live. He originally comes off with a personality as bitter as black coffee, but the more time you spend with him reveals that he is actually sweet as sugar. I really like Ichigo’s inability to be honest and constant denial of his feelings. I’m sorry, but that hairstyle cracks me up. Ichigo wasn’t initially one of my favorites, but his sequel made me adore him. In some CGs, I find him almost look identical to Mirai… Did Voltage recycle characters? Hmmm….I won’t lie, I love “Dreamy Days in West Tokyo” so much that I actually wanted to play all of the main routes. Overall, I am very happy with Rihito’s stories! I can’t wait until the 3-years-later stories come out!!! The only complaint I have is he reminds me of Mirai (from Sleepless city) too much. I don’t like how she is portrayed as indecisive, timid and weak in other boys’ routes. I actually like the personality of the MC a bit more in his route because she seems more confident and out-spoken. HE JUST CAN’T KEEP HIS HANDS OFF HER! HOW CUTE!!! It makes me like him even more <3 After all the drama is over, Rihito finally got to spend his first night with the love of his life. AWhat do I mean by that? You just have to play to find out ) I personally enjoyed the sequel very much, because you get to see Richy’s biggest insecurity and struggle in his life, and how he conquered it. All he ever wanted to do is to protect and support MC, just like how she would always do for him. Why? I am not sure… But just like all the other boys, Richy has a giant crush on the MC since childhood. The part that confuses me the most is how can you not know the gender of your friend?!?!! Every time the MC unknowingly called Rihito a girl, he got sad and teary but never corrected her. The funny thing is that the MC always thought Rihito is a girl. So we all know the MC and Richy knew each other since childhood. His story is very different from how I predicted it to be. *SPOILER ALERT* I find his route really interesting because it took me by surprise. However, Richy is ridiculously possessive though… but he is very cute and plays piano like no body’s business, so who cares right? Anyways, I will stop drooling over this young man and get on my review. I repeat, zero! I find that very charming in a guy. Especially when it comes to showing affection for his girl, there is NO hesitation. I pick him as my favorite because I love his personality. Why? Just look at this pic of him? How can you resist those gentle eyes and that gorgeous smile? I know I can’t. Rihito is officially my favorite boy in DDIWT. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! RICHY I FINALLY HAVE YOU!!!!!!! *faints*Īlright, now that is out of the way, let’s get started.
